Oregano

Oregano is native to the Mediterranean region and has become one of the most important ingredients there. The condiment is particularly popular in Italian cuisine – not just for pizzas. The strong, slightly peppery and bitter aroma is reminiscent of the related marjoram, but more intense, and is a popular ingredient for e.g. sauces, soups, lamb dishes and all dishes with tomatoes. In addition, oregano has a healing effect and can relieve inflammation, digestive problems or coughs.
