Cardamom

The spice from India is also known there as the “queen of spices”, which is not only due to the popular sweetish-hot taste, but also to the difficult harvest, which makes it one of the most expensive spices in the world. The noble spice is here in Europe mainly used in Christmas bakery and as a mulled wine spice, but it also goes wonderfully with fish and meat. In terms of health, cardamom is valued above all for its digestive and antispasmodic properties.
